Oh, alright perhaps it's a bit different.

[She sniffs like Nathan just insulted her deeply. But instead of being sassy it just sounds kind of pathetic.]

In any case, unless you know how to retrieve coffins from said sea, your skills probably wouldn't have been applicable.

[otiosity]

[She collapses dramatically against the back of the couch.]

Someone who didn't need my help? I can't even imagine.

That happens a lot, people coming to you for help?

Oh yes. It's always "Hawke, can you go gather some herbs on this mountain side? Hawke, can you save my son on the run from templars? Hawke, can you catch a golden nug, milk it, and make a stew out of the milk."

Hawke this, Hawke that.

Riiiight. What makes you the go-to person? Don't get me wrong, you're capable, but you don't really give off an air of wanting to get things done for random people.

Questions I ask myself all the time.

[He laughs.]

Well, I don't want you to do anything but sit here with me and tell me how great my wife's show was.

[otiosity]

It's the best show I've ever seen.

[She pulls the blankets around her, sniffs, and leans against him. Hey, at least she's actually being sincere. But it's been a rough few weeks, more than Nate knows despite being privy to her survival dome shenanigans, and just being able to sit here with him and relax is a blessing. And she's coming to find that relaxing around Nate is easier than it is with most other people.]

[In deference to her illness, he does not elbow her.]

I'll assume that will still be true when you've seen more than one.

[Hanging out with a sick person is more fun than he would have expected, and only some of that is because of Elena's presence on the screen. Though if they can ogle her together, that'd be great too.]

So what's your show? Something about climbing? Or treasure?

[Clearly, she does not have this concept down correctly.]

[That makes him laugh.]

Oh, no way. I'm a thief and a treasure hunter, not a TV star. I'll stay off camera, thanks.

Why not?

You're not that ugly. I mean Elena definitely has you beat in all departments but still.

Agreed entirely. And it just isn't something that ever interested me. I'd rather be out there, getting my hands dirty, in the middle of the action.

Wouldn't all your tree climbing and treasure madness be a good show?

{Her brow is furrowed like she is trying adorably hard to understand all of this.]

Hawke. It's not all legal.

[It's more illegal than not.]

[otiosity]

But the treasure doesn't belong to anyone. Why is it illegal to take it? Isn't the point of treasure that anyone can find it.

[SHE'S INDIGNANT IN A SPECIAL WAY ONLY SOMETHING WITH A RUNNY NOSE AND WEARING PAJAMAS CAN BE]

Some of it does. Plus even if it's fair game, some of the stuff we do to get it isn't on the up and up.

[Trespassing, assault, a lot of destruction of property...]

[otiosity]

Your world is very strange.

[SNIFFS. Like he's being ridiculous.]

[sketchycharacter]

Ain't that the truth.

[He agrees with Hawke, but not for the same reason.]

[otiosity]

[Hawke is silent for a few minutes as she watches the show before she slowly lets her head drop onto Nate's shoulder. He's now firmly in her "safe" category and she's not afraid to be a little vulnerable around him. The mask cracks a little bit.]

You know. Being sick is miserable but this makes it not so bad. Is that what people do when they're ill? Just watch shows the whole time?

[His shoulders are broad, yet soft. She's welcome to one of them as long as she doesn't get snot on it.]

Yeah, a lot of the time. Sometimes I do. Elena says I'm whiny when I'm sick, but I think being sick is worth a good whine.

[otiosity]

[No promises! She has the decency to sneeze into a tissue at least. And at his comment, she snorts in the middle of blowing her nose.]

You? Whining? Perish the thought.

I know, right? I can't even imagine whining.

[He doesn't have to when he can just remember doing it.]
